Extended lunch incentive to continue for students with perfect attendance
After a review of student attendance, the school leadership committee announced Thursday that the incentive used to encourage perfect attendance will continue. Students will get a new chance for an extended lunch every three weeks. Students who achieve perfect attendance for the three week period will be granted a one hour and 45 minute lunch.
During class meetings at the beginning of the year, Principal Steven Singleton told students that in order to continue the extended lunch incentive, the student body needed to collectively achieve a minimum of a 95 percent attendance rate.
After review, Randall’s attendance was 97.17 percent for the first six week period. According to the committee, this is the highest attendance rate the school has seen in the past six years.
