On Feb. 14, students gathered in chemistry teacher Derek West’s classroom after school to witness the gender reveal of his child. West and his wife Amy were given three test tubes containing chemicals that when mixed together would turn either pink or blue. West and his wife each poured the contents of one of the test tube into the third. They conducted the experiment three times. The first two times the solution turned green. On the third trial, the solution turned pink meaning the couple is expecting a girl.
