The Inheritance Cycle is a series of fantasy novels written by Christopher Paolini. The series includes three books (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr) with the fourth set to come. The novels focus on the teenage hero, Eragon, and his dragon, Saphira. As Eragon becomes one of the last remaining Dragon Riders the Emperor of the evil Empire, Galbatroix, plots against him. Eragon joins the rebel group, Varden, and spends his times training for the day he faces Galbatroix. The series is about 1500 pages long. In 2006, the first book of the series, Eragon, was adapted into a feature film. Paolini makes his characters come alive in this series. His characters are well developed, complex and unique and the story line is sure to leave readers turning pages through the entire series.
