Minotaurs, saders, and nymphs. The realm of the ancient Greeks and their gods. And Percy Jackson is thrust into it. Percy Jackson (played by Logan Lerman) is an average high school kid with ADD and dyslexia, or so he thinks. After his history teacher transforms into a monster and attacks him, he learns he has powers. And not only that, he is the son of Poseidon, god of the ocean. His best friend, Grover (played by Brandon T. Jackson) is his protector and also a sader. Zeus’s lightning bolt has been stolen and Percy is blamed for the crime. Percy and Grover, along with Annabeth (played by Alexandra Daddario), must find the real thief and return the bolt before the summer solstice at midnight, or the gods will go to war. The runtime for the film is about 1 hour and 48 minutes. The story line is very good and reminds me of a mixture of The Odyssey and God of War. The rating is PG. I give the movie about a B+. The cinematography is spectacular and it is a movie worth seeing in theaters.
