Mixing work with play, eight staff members from the Treasure Chest Yearbook and Silver Streak publications, along with three students from Journalism I classes, attended the annual Texas Association of Journalism Educators state convention in San Antonio, Oct. 17-19. Students participated in on-site photography and writing competitions, carry-in competitions, attended workshops, as well as experienced the culture of the famous River Walk. The weekend resulted in seven total awards: five photography won by seniors Taylor Molloy, Amanda Plast, and graduate Austin Karber, one writing award won by senior Robin Mosier, and a 3rd place Best in Show for the 2009 Treasure Chest Yearbook.
