United Way Youth Cabinet raises money through students

This month the United Way Youth Cabinet campaign officially kicks off. As a non-profit organization, United Way strives to raise money through fundraising in order to support those in need.  Many upcoming activities will be held in order to raise funds to support the community. The campaign will end Nov. 7 and is designed to get students involved in raising money and helping those around them.

Black and Silver bead school spirit necklaces will be sold for 50 cents each. Sunglasses will also be sold for $2.

The cabinet will limit their selling to activity period and between classes. The overall campaign goal is set at $4321 after being challenged by the Canyon Youth Cabinet. This year’s goal is to outdo the Eagles.

Oct. 19 will be an official hat day for all students. For $1, students will be allowed to wear a hat all day.

Also, look for the United Way booth Oct. 24 at Halloween Happening. Don’t forget, class t-shirts will be coming up soon. The United Way Youth Cabinet and sponsor Elaine Lawrence hope to ramp up school spirit while getting students involved in raising money for a good cause.

“The cabinet is so excited about the campaign,” Lawrence said. “With your help we can do it!”
