FFA is gearing up and getting ready to begin their yearly leadership competitions. Eight teams will travel to Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas Nov. 7 for the 2013 Leadership Development Event, or LDE contest. Teams will compete in creed speaking, radio broadcasting and quiz taking. Anyone in FFA who is interested in competing needs to stop by Mr. Hoover’s classroom in the Ag building and sign up. Competitors and teams who advance from the district contest will move on to the area contest in Canyon, Texas.
Contests and descriptions:
Creed Speaking- competitors recite the FFA Creed individually in front of judges.
Radio Broadcasting- competitors recite a six to eight minute speech to judges over a microphone. Teams consist of three to four members.
Quiz- competitors take a 100 questions quiz over the history and traditions of the FFA and parliamentary procedure.
