FFA members traveled to Borger to compete in the District Leadership Development Event contest last week. Many members had prepared for months in anticipation of the contest. Although no contestants placed high enough to advance to the area contest, students are still practicing in preparation for next year’s fall contest.

Green hand Creed Speaking: Freshman Haley Pybus placed 11^th , Freshman Chance Lytle placed 13^th

Green hand Quiz contest: Team consisting of Junior Zubair Mohammad and Freshmen Haley Pybus, Chance Lytle and Brandon Gonzalez placed 5^th.

Senior Creed Speaking: Junior Jenna Hooten placed 3^rd, Senior Taylor Williams placed 8^th

Senior Quiz contest: Team consisting of Senior Sasha Thomas, Junior Tanner Tyk and Sophomore Taylor Hamman placed 8^th. Team 2 placed 12th with Junior Noah Brown and sophomores Madison Monday and Maddyson Andreas.

Radio Speaking contest: Senior Taylor Williams, junior Jenna Hooten and sophomore Sabrina Garcia placed 3^rd as a team with a script about ethanol and it’s effect on the Ogallala. Sophomores Madison Monday, Maddyson Andreas and Michaela Montgomery placed 4^th as a team with their topic about West Nile and it’s effects on the agricultural environment.
