On Oct. 27  the Randall debate team went to Caprock to compete against Caprock, Lubbock, Amarillo, Borger, and Sudan High in events such as L.D., Interp, Extemp and others.

Debater freshman Xan Argo, who competes in Original Oratory, performed “Tear it down” which tells about the U.S. prison system and how it effects society, the inmate, and how it hurts the economy. Argo also competed in Domestic Extemporaneous where he explained why the U.S. is ranked in having the most competitive economy. Argo placed 3rd in this event, and 7th in Original Oratory.

Argo said he enjoys competing in these competitions because he studies economics in his free time. Several others competed for Randall as well. Junior Jordan Ash placed first in Impromptu and senior Bonnie Bell won first place in L.D.

Randall placed second overall in the tournament.
