Girls spend hours deciding what makeup they should put on, days on what shoes to wear, and weeks on what dress to put on. It is no doubt that it takes girls a long time, sometimes months to decide what to do for the occasion, and guys usually spend around 30 minutes in thought over the Silver Ball.  

It is not bad that girls spend more time planning, because they have more to worry about. For most guys, the only preparation is purchasing a tie that matches their date’s dress, and making sure their comb-over looks presentable.  

Since guys don’t have to spend as much time on apparel and looking good, they need to focus on how to make it a special night. For a special occasion such as Silver Ball, there are many opportunities for guys to flatter and impress their date. If the male portion of the date put more thought into the night, he could come up with some great ideas that could make the night even better for his date. Junior Chris Steadman gives his opinion on how guys should treat their dates.

“I think guys should make their date feel like a princess,” Steadman said. “They should make [the night of Silver Ball] a special night for their date.”

Things as simple as giving her flowers, then taking her out to eat, or singing a song to her will make the night special, and she will never forget it.
