Turn the beat around: Why school dances could use some improvement

School dances are a pretty prominent part of high school pop culture and a lot work goes into making these events attendance worthy; from the decor to the attire to the drink selections every aspect of the dance is carefully selected. The most important of these aspects by far is the music selections. Without an adequate DJ school dances are pathetic. Randall High School almost always has a passable DJ who manages to pick good music to dance to. However, there is always room for improvement and music is definitely an area that could use improvement. Seniors typically fill their last year of high school with nostalgia. Adding some popular 90s hits to the playlist would create an even more memorable moment for the seniors because of the added nostalgia. Also the addition of older songs would guarantee familiarity which would increase the amount of people who are actually dancing. Another thing that would improve the quality of the music is a request book that allows students to ask for their favorite song to be played. With all of these improvements added the beat is sure to turn around.
