Lady Raider basketball girls suited up Oct. 6 for a different kind of workout, the JV cross country meet.
“We ran in the meet to build team unity, compete, represent Randall High School, and prepare for the season,” varsity basketball coach Brooke Walthall said. “They are a motivated group of girls. This was not mandatory, but they are putting in extra time to get better mentally and physically for the season.”
The meet was held in Canyon and consisted of running a 5K in low temperatures beginning in the early morning.
“It wasn’t as bad as we all thought it would be,” freshman Alissa Brooks said. “We have been training for it for a while, and getting prepared was the biggest challenge.”
