Tennis team qualifies for playoffs

For the second time in school history, the tennis team has qualified for playoffs.  The Raiders finished second in district play behind Canyon and ahead of Amarillo High and Dumas.  The team will travel to Lubbock this Thursday for the area tournament.

“Believe me, (this) has been a difficult road, and I am so proud of (the team’s) hard work and dedication to make this happen,” coach Darby Norman said.

The Raiders will play Frenship in the first round Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Lubbock High School. If they beat Frenship, the team will play Lubbock High Thursday afternoon.  First, second, third and fourth place finishes will be determined Friday morning.

The tennis team is currently ranked no. 19 in state class 4A.
