Fundraiser will raise funds for Randall student, Micah Brue.

The newest fundraiser to support Micah Brue will be a dinner and dance on Feb. 22 from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the Piehl Barn Event Center. Tickets cost $25 per person, or $300 for a table.

Doctors diagnosed junior Micah Brue with Acute Myeloid Leukemia earlier this school year.  Since then, he has undergone a series of chemotherapy treatments and a bone marrow transplant. Raiders have participated in fundraisers, such as “Team Brue” t-shirts and bracelets, to help his family with treatment costs. Feb. 22 dinner and dance fundraiser will also feature a silent auction and live music provided by The Monarch Band. All proceeds will help pay for treatment and other necessities for the Brue family.  Tickets will be on sale now and at the door.

“Finding out that Micah was diagnosed with Leukemia was hard for the whole community,” senior Josh Schmitt said.

Since his diagnosis, Micah’s friends and family have been looking for ways to help.

“Knowing the devastation that a cancer diagnosis causes a family, I’m excited for an opportunity to help them out in anyway that I can,” Senior Trenton Pharis. “I bought a whole table to help out.”

Tickets for this event can be purchased now on the Monarch Band website.
