Sophomore Gavin Snell is on the varsity soccer team and has been since his freshman year.
He started playing when he was in Kindergarten, and clearly loves the game.
“My favorite part of being on the team is the community the team has built and seeing all of my friends succeed in the sport they love,” Snell said.
As most of us know, sports can be very difficult to maintain while in school. It becomes easy to get behind in schoolwork, and grades tend to slip. However, this is not Snell’s case. He is the the number-one-ranked student in academics in his sophomore class. The fact he is able to balance playing a varsity sport, along with maintaining such good grades shows that Snell has a good source of motivation within himself and the people surrounding him.
“A lot of my drive comes from my dad and my friends,” Snell said. “My dad is constantly pushing me to keep up with both my grades and sports, and my friends build me up to grow, and become better in soccer.”
Snell seems to have a very bright future ahead of him. He says he wants to go to a good academic college to play soccer and study finances.
