Students show support for injured classmate

Students show support for injured classmate

It isn’t uncommon to see students dressed in black and silver. Students dress alike for spirit days, to support their sports teams, and on the case of Wednesday April 27 to show support for injured classmate and JV baseball player sophomore Austin Chontos. Students came to school April 27 wearing red and white shirts with Chontos’ name and jersey number on their shirts.

Chontos was injured during the April 14 JV baseball game against Tascosa when a wild pitch hit him in the head just below his helmet. Chontos was rushed to the hospital and put into a doctor induced coma.

Chontos is currently still in the hospital but is expected to be transported to Dallas for recovery and rehabilitation.
