Varsity football defeats Lubbock Monterey
The varsity football team recorded another win Thursday night defeating the Monterey Plainsmen 22-10. Senior quarterback Brett Taff scored two rushing touchdowns in the first half giving the Raiders a 14-0 lead at half-time. Running back senior Wyatt Garton ran 26-yards to score in the third quarter. Garton ended the game with 135 rushing yards. This win comes after a 35-28 win against Lubbock Cooper last week. Thursday’s win puts the Raiders with a 3-0 season record. The Raiders will take on Lubbock Coronado next Friday at Kimbrough Stadium. This will be their last game before they begin district play against Tascosa at home Oct. 3.
