The tennis team defeated Lubbock Cooper 16-3 and Lubbock Coronado 15-4 Saturday in their first two district matches of the year. The Randall team is now 15-1 in the season.

“It was great to get district play underway with two great road wins,” Coach Darby Norman said. “Those double headers are tough, and both of those teams will be state ranked when the poll comes out next week. So, getting two wins is a must if we want to compete for a district championship.”

In the second match, the Raiders were only up 4-3 after doubles and won 11 of the 12 singles matches.

“We had some big wins to solidify the victory,” Norman said.

The Raiders will take the court again Tuesday against Caprock.
