Wrestling Team Dominates District

The no. 1 state ranked Randall Boys’ Wrestling team won the District championship this weekend at Amarillo High.

The Raiders earned a combined 255.5 points with the second place finisher trailing by 50 points.

The top three wrestlers in each weight class advanced to the regional tournament, which will be this coming weekend in El Paso.

Going into district, the Raiders, led by Coach David Quirino, have been dominating the mat. The team defeated Amarillo High 69-12, Coronado 72-6, Tascosa 70-6, Borger 70-12 and Hereford 84-0.

The Lady Raiders finish 2nd as a team with 111 points 17 behind Caprock with 128.

106 weight class- Ashton Bennert (19-1) placed 1st and scored 24.0 team points.

120 weight class- Aidan Medina (20-1) placed 1st and scored 22.0 team points.

126 weight class-Andres Mendoza (22-1) placed 1st and scored 23.5 team points.

132 weight class- Jesse Perea (20-2) placed 2nd and scored 18.0 team points.

138 weight class- Steven Rodriguez (17-2) placed 3rd and scored 15.0 team points.

145 weight class- Jared Gallegos (19-2) placed 2nd and scored 22.0 team points.

152 weight class- Patrick Perea (16-4) placed 1st and scored 22.0 team points.

160 weight class- Malaiki Owens (20-3) placed 1st and scored 28.0 team points.

170 weight class- Kale Farrington (20-2) placed 1st and scored 22.0 team points.

182 weight class- Branson Britten (23-0) placed 1st and scored 26.0 team points.

195 weight class- Nathan Guzman (14-4) placed 1st and scored 22.0 team points.

220 weight class- Conner Bolton (11-7) placed 3rd and scored 11.0 team points.

95 weigh class- Avery Stout (13-2) placed 1st and scored 18.0 team points.

102 weight class- Jaryn Ortegon (17-1) placed 1st and scored 20.0 team points.

110 weight class- Avery Martinez (18-1) placed 1st and scored 22.0 team points.

165 weight class- Keygan Grubb (9-6) placed 2nd and scored 14.0 team points.

215 weight class- Kenndy Juarez (10-6) placed 3rd and scored 13.0 team points.
