The Lady Raiders volleyball team is currently ranked as the no. 2 4A team in Texas with a record of 26-4. The Raiders football team is also rapidly climbing the Texas Football polls, earning a no. 39 ranking with a 3-0 record.
For the Ladies, being atop the rankings is no surprise, seeing as the program is just two years removed from a state championship and last year’s squad reached the regional finals.
For the Raiders however, it has been over a decade since the football team had state relevance. Last year’s run into the regional semifinals lifted the team back to prominence in head coach Bryan Wood’s second season at Randall. That success paired with three impressive wins in non-district play contributed to the ranking.
Volleyball will look to continue its success into a rigorous district 3-4A schedule Saturday as they face Canyon on the road.
Football will also head into district play as it prepares to play Caprock next Thursday at Dick Bivins Stadium.
