Automakers forget true meaning of power

High gas prices and rising fuel economy is what most major car manufacturers are focusing on. About two out of every three newly released cars from companies like Ford, Chevy and Dodge are designed to get the best gas mileage possible.

Dodge and Ford have released versions of their pickups that have V6 engines. Now that is crazy. Ford is also going to release a version of their sports car, the Mustang, with a V4 engine. Good gas mileage is definitely a desirable quality in a car, but it is still nice to have some power behind the wheels.

With all this focus on fuel consumption, car producers are throwing power to the side. The Ford Mustang has always been an icon in the sports car world, and putting a 4-Cylinder engine it will ruin it.

Car companies need to realize not all cars can have perfect fuel economy, and are better off with their larger, more powerful engines. Leave the “amazing gas mileage” to the hybrids.
