Band to Compete in Marching Contest This Saturday

Broken Reeds, Shiny Tubas, and elaborate props is almost everything that you would see at this Marching contest. After hours of practicing day and night the band will compete this Saturday in U.S. Bands in Burleson, Texas at 1:15 p.m.  U.S. Bands is a marching competition presented by Drum Corp group, The Cadets. It is featured across 25 states with about 700 bands preforming. This year, the band will go up against many 3A and 4A bands, and one 6A band from Louisiana.

This competition will consist of two rounds: Round one and finals. If the band makes it to finals, they will not compete out of necessity to get back home. While competing in finals would be rewarding, the band will use this contest mostly as practice and to get judge feedback. Band Director Ginger Denny will use the feedback the band receives from this contest to prepare for the upcoming UIL and High Plains competitions.
