Feminists take it too far

Feminism is a prominent part of society, namely social media, and has an effect on those who pursue or oppose it.

There are quite a few places feminist expressionism can be found, Tumblr, Facebook, television and Twitter are a few sources that come to mind. Feminist have many ideas that prove to be inspiring and benefit society; however, some feminists tend to take their form of expression to a level of extreme.

There was a commercial aired that was particularly vulgar. The video consisted of several young girls using obscene language to emphasize the purpose of their message. The point of using girls whose ages seemed to range from five to eight years old was for shock factor, which was obviously successful. The message behind the program was agreeable; however, the use of children made me question the producer’s morals.

Another common, yet arguable, form of expression is the stereotyping of men and the hypocrisy of the matter. It is common knowledge that no one appreciates judgment because of a usually untrue conception. Feminists consistently address stereotyping of women, consistently claiming that men verbally regard them as sexual objects; however, this is a hypocritical action that often tends to only anger men instead of having its intended effect.

Feminism has been around for a few centuries and was used for the purpose of women’s equality in social, political and economic situations. Women’s superiority is not feminism. Claiming that women are better than men does not make one a feminist it makes the individual a women’s supremacist.

Feminists defending women’s rights are both inspiring and revered; however, the act of feminism also has a negative connotation used more often than the positivity that actual feminism contains. Feminism should be used to describe its actual definition and purpose not the examples of bad feminism or women supremacy.
