As the seasons turn and the fall leaves drop to the ground, families gather around their tables and Thanksgiving traditions begin. Many students are looking forward to the break.

“I plan to spend a lot of time with my family,” sophomore Kaitlyn Anders said. “(I plan to) eat a lot of food at my grandmother’s house.”

Anders said she is excited about getting to watch football and seeing the timeless Thanksgiving classic, “Charlie Brown.”  She also plans to get caught up on sleep.

“My grandparents and cousins from both sides of my family will be coming to my house,” Anders said.  “We will be having turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pie, you know, the usual Thanksgiving feast.”

Anders said she has many things she is thankful for including her friends, family, house, and families good health.  She is excited to FaceTime family members who can’t make it.

Freshman Izzy Caperton said she is thankful for everything her father has done for her and her family.  She will never forget him and his memory will forever carry on.

“Ever since I was a little girl, my dad taught me how to make homemade pumpkin pie,” Caperton said.  “It’s a tradition, and I’ve continued to make it every year since.”

Like many, Caperton said she is looking forward to eating all of the traditional Thanksgiving favorites.

” Thanksgiving is a time to break your diet,” Caperton said.  “It gives me an excuse to eat all day.”
