Gregg Paxton, Art Teacher
“I’ve been an artist since I was 4 years old. I picked up a pencil, started drawing, and I’ve been drawing all my life. I’m a big Vincent Van Gogh fan. Van Gogh has always been a big inspiration and Starry Night is my favorite piece. It shows you a lot about him as a person. I always knew I wanted to be an artist, but I never knew I wanted to be an art teacher. Teaching sort of found me over the course of the years. I found myself back in Amarillo, got a job working at a middle school in town and everyone told me ‘you should be an art teacher, you’re so good with kids.’ I’m really glad I did, especially now that I’m at Randall. I absolutely love this school. I’ve never been in a place where I feel like I belong as much as I do here.”
