This is Eric Koontz fourth year at Randall. Currently, Koontz teaches forensic science and coaches both boys’ and girls’ wrestling. While he planned to coach when he was in high school, convincing him to teach is a different adventure according to Koontz. Koontz fell in love with teaching when he took a position in Giddings, TX then the following year he couldn’t wait to continue his teaching career.

“I always wanted to coach,” Koontz said. “Coaching helped me begin a career in teaching, it has become a way of life for my family and I.”

Koontz’s favorite part of Randall is his students. He said he loves getting to know them and watch them mature into young men and women. Outside of the classroom he enjoys fishing, camping, going to the shooting range and going on long road trips with his daughters.
