3D printer to soon replace current household laserjets
In 1969 the first laser printer, called EARS, was developed and in 1977 after major tweaks the printer was released to the public. For the first time Americans could own their very own printer. They could type their essays on the computer and print it out instead of writing it by hand. The laser printer was cutting edge. It changed everything. Now there is another big change on the horizon, the 3D Printer. Using a plastic coil constructs the object of choice one layer at a time. Although this device is on the market for anyone, it costs quite the pretty penny to buy one for yourself. A makerbot printer, for example, cost anywhere from $2,200 to $2,800 not including the ink or in this case plastic. Experts predict the cost of the 3D Printer will decrease overtime and in about six years, it will replace the current household printer.
