The newest movie to the Aquaman franchise is “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and critics don’t really like it. Critics gave the movie 34% on Rotten Tomatoes, even though the first movie got 66% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The first movie was a story on what happened to Aquaman’s mother and Poseidon. It contributed to the DC lore, but the second movie makes more jokes than it does story. The first movie gave in more action for the audience and a good villain who has a cause to kill aquaman. It stayed on track with the story line while adding some funny non serious moments with it.

Critics say it’s not like the first movie on the silliness and how it also had a story to it, critics say the second movie is more silliness and not enough story to contract the silliness. According to critics the movie does not stick with the story, the story is just plain silliness. Edwin Arnaudin says “More like Awkwardman and the Lost Opportunity” saying how the movie lost the opportunity to put in more story.

I watched “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and it is not like the critics say. I thought the movie has more serious scenes than funny, and the funny moments are barely there. Most of the movie is serious and there are sad parts to it. The serious moments overrule the funny moments, and the movie adds on to the DC universe a lot. Lost Kingdom gives fans more lore on the Aquaman universe. In my opinion, the movie is just as good as the second one is.
